During August the Old Man played Schenley Park and Mt. Lebanon in Pittsburgh PA and Shennecossett in Groton CT, founded in 1897, 1907 and 1898 respectively. Expect to see their influence here at the Club. His experiments benefited from the company of his brother Tom at Schenley, old friend Frank Pollock at Lebo and brother Eric at “Shenny.”
Shenny was his first walk on a Donald Ross design.
Another stop on the tour, New York City’s Central Park, struck him as having great potential as a golf venue.
